The gallery is home to twenty artists whose work is well known both nationally and internationally, featured in various major collections, and who have individually received numerous prestigious awards and grant recognitions.  The gallery is located in the Van Buren Building in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.  Open Door is an exciting opportunity for non-member artists to showcase their work in the gallery.  Typically, this exhibition is reviewed and receives extensive press coverage.

Since graduating with an MFA in 2005 from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Carlson has maintained an active exhibition record. Her work has gained critical attention for it’s rigorous draftsmanship and cultural commentary and is featured in the collections of the British Museum, the Tweed Art Museum, National Gallery of Canada and the Weisman Art Museum.  In 2011 Carlson curated an exhibition titled Hidden Fortress at the Haas Art Center at UW-Eau Clare, and in 2012 curated “Sequence Now!” at the Soo Visual Arts Center and the Canadian collective Blind Squab titled “ELEVATOR” at Tweed Art Museum, Duluth, MN.
